Hurt

So, as you can probably tell from the drawing, I hurt my finger today. the story is as follows:

I teach a manga class every wednesday for teenagers from my town. the class is pretty poorly attended, but it is allot of fun and really speaks top my interests. It is kind of awesome to be able to pass on some of the knowledge I have, even if it is just one day a week.

Teaching teenagers, however, is a mixed bag. while they are sweet, funny and seem genuinely interested, they are a lively bunch.

It simply means that I have to set about 20 minutes of every teaching hour aside for random games. basically the more I can make them move, the more they will be engaged in whatever I have to say. that was how I injured my finger today.

usually we play a wii game called just dance, at which the most pressing threat is dancing into one another. today, however, the dance machine was occupied, but the pool tables were not.

i decided that this would be a great time to teach these teenagers a game known as “blue knuckles”. the rules of the game are quite simple: you have to place one hand on the edge of the pool table and then use the other to chuck balls at you opponents hand. the person who hits his opponents hand the most times is the winner.

because it’s hard to get these kids to volunteer to do anything, I ended up battling against all of them. One girl was particularly aggressive and my finger payed the price.

I really hope this means that I am a good teacher, because I can’t bare it if my poor finger suffered fro no good reason.
